Disputes

If you have a dispute with a KiwiSaver provider, you may be able to get help from:

  • The Government Actuary at the Insurance and Superannunation Unit - 04 913 3651, isu@isu.govt.nz. Contact the Government Actuary in the first instance if you think the fees you are being charged are not reasonable.
  • Inland Revenue's KiwiSaver Call Centre (Monday to Friday 8am-8pm, Saturday 9am-1pm): 0800 KIWISAVER (0800 549 472). Hearing-impaired: fax 0800 447 755.
  • www.kiwisaver.govt.nz - This is Inland Revenue's KiwiSaver website. The department administers KiwiSaver.
  • The Securities Commission - 04 472 9830, seccom@seccom.govt.nz. The commission investigates investment scams and misleading or deceptive investment advice/advertising.
  • The Insurance and Savings Ombudsman - 04 499 7612. The ISO deals with complaints about insurance and savings products - but only if your provider is a member of the scheme and only if you're an individual KiwiSaver not a member of an employment-related group scheme.
  • Consumer NZ - 0800 CONSUMER (0800 266 786), info@consumer.org.nz. NOTE: You'll need to be a member to get advice or access all of the content on the Consumer Online website.
